Getting the youth to be interested in politics

Young people are the future of a country. If they don’t get involved in politics, then who would rule the country in the future? Getting young people involved in politics is very important if a country wants to sustain itself in the future too.

The modern day world does not seem to have many young people who are interested in politics. Politics is still considered to be a father’s or grandfather’s or uncle’s interest. It is seen as something that can be postponed to become interested in when one reaches middle-age.

This is not true. Politics is for the young, middle-age, and elderly. As much as the elderly or middle-aged people are involved in politics, so too is the need for young politicians to rule a nation.

Almost every country has youth unions and youth leaders. But it only stops at that. The youth leader gets into the big league and stops encouraging youth activities. This happens to everyone and everywhere.

In certain countries, college unions elect youth leaders. But these leaders are seen in mock-interest by the more experience politicians. They either become a center of amusement or a source of rejection. Young politicians find it hard to break through the gateway of nepotism, so well guarded by experience politicians.

These things should not discourage us from getting the youth to become interested in politics. We need young educated people who have the creativity, humanity, and brilliance to rule a nation. We can only hope and pray that we have politicians from top-brass management colleges. Such a situation is awaited, because the world is fed-up with low-quality politicians.

4 Important Criteria to Consider Before Becoming an Elected Official

The primary role of an elected official can be summed up in two words “problem solver.” People look to an elected official as someone in charge who can address their concerns. Here are four simple yet very important criteria that you must address before becoming an elected official.

1. Why do you want tPolitician at Podiumo become elected?

If you truly desire to help people, then be prepared to be a servant. After all, that’s the core of being an elected official; a servant of the people. If your ideals are not about servitude but instead to make a name for yourself, then you should not be an elected official.

2. What can you do for the people?

Although you can’t single-handedly do and fix everything, there must be something you can offer the people to solicit their votes. Talk with the people to become more familiar with their concerns and carefully select the ones you are most capable of meeting.

3. How will you execute your promises?

You need to have a political strategy of how you plan on fulfilling your promises of positive change to win votes. This is your opportunity to utilize your skills, resources and contacts to have a solid workable plan.

4. When will you deliver on your promises?

Your constituents need timelines of when they can expect things to get better. Be honest and don’t set unrealistic goals just to win votes. If you get elected, you would’ve already set the pace for their expectations.

Answering these four questions can determine if you really have what is takes to become an elected official.

Elections and Kids

Have you ever tried to explain how politicla elections work in our nation without it sounding like its a popularity contest? The great news is that while political elections are occuring, its a great time to discuss with kids about what’s going on. Plus, during a major polticlal election the entire world is buzzing about elections. Kids are going to hear about poltiics and electiosn right and left. If you talk to htem about it, they might actually turn on and notice what’s going on around them. Our political process may seem rather complicated but it isn’t if you explain it in kid terms, even a kindergartener can understand parts of what’s going on.

Another great way to teach your children about the electoral process is to actually take them with you to vote as long as you aren’t in line for hours and hours. If kids see you voting in an election, they will understand a lot more about what’s going on. Also, school aged children are often talking about elections as they are going on, especially during Presidentail elections. This is also your chance to indoctriante yoru children with your political view, just kidding.  But you can help continue the teaching that’s happened at school or hasn’t happened, by talking to your children about elections as they are happening. Its the only thing you’ll hear on televsion and radio newcasts when they’re happening.

Republicans Take Back The House

In what is sure to be one of the most important elections in the nations history, the Republicans took a very big step in making their formidable voice heard once again by taking the majority of the seats in the United States House of Representatives. This couldn’t come at a better time. With the Obama administration only half way through their term and the senate being firmly controlled by the Democrats, have a voice in one half of the decision making capacity means a lot to the Republicans for more than just one reason.

The first is that it signals a re connect with the American voter and hints at a dissatisfaction with the current regime of Democrats in power. Things looked bleak after 2006. There the Republicans were batter and beaten to death when a failing economy and a very polarizing war threatened turned voters off to the ideology of the Bush administration. There was a great upheaval.

The last hope at that time that the Republicans had to gain favor with the voters was with the 2008 Presidential election. While they trotted out the very likable and honorable John McCain they could not compete against the massive youth movement for Obama and the ills of the decision to make Sarah Palin the running mate of McCain.

However, there seems to be a swing back in the favor of red. The failing economy and the angst and worry over the Obama health care bill has started making people rethink their stance on a more liberal way of America. The feeling seems to be that the country needs to tighten the belts and not loosen the purse strings. For that reason the Democrats are taking a hit, just like in the recent election. Unless the Dems make a big splash, 2012 could be just as big for the Conservatives.

Analyzing the 2010 midterm election

On Tuesday, Nov 2, 2010 the Republicans took over the U.S House of Representatives. But the next day, the majority in House for the Republicans was unclear. Even if the Republicans managed to make inroads, there were no buyers for their agenda for setting up the government. The issue was not about gaining prominence or taking over the House as this situation was never going to happen according to political analysts.

If the Republicans of the GOP did get a majority, they would have come out with a completely new set of mandates. This would have created conflicting and contradictory situations. It is like navigating a tracked ship to elsewhere. The tracking goes haywire, and the route will yet be unclear for any conclusion. Indeed it is a good thing for stability that the GOP did not stake a majority. When things were settling down, another shake-quake of the government was too much to handle. Also the country was coming out the terrible recession and this was the perfect time to consolidate positions.

Although the Democrats won the midterm election their majority-lead has shrunk. This means that they do have a large majority-lead in the House. What could be great for stability would have been a sizeable majority-lead in the House. Clearly, the Republicans are hot on the heels of the Senate. With the difference in the majority to only three members, it has been a tight race to the finish line.

The Conservatives should feel elated on Tuesday’s victory of the Republicans. It also remains to be seen how the outgoing Congress members treat the radical liberal agenda bill. Everything vests upon how these people cast their votes. If they align with the Republicans then the Democrats will be faced with a problem.

The Democrats need to do a re-think on their agendas. It was a cause for their defeat on Tuesday night. The difference between them and the Republicans is so far only negligible.

Conservatives Sticking Together through Thick and Thin

Khmer Democratic Party

Conservatives have had a number of challenges leading up to election time, but that hasn’t stopped the party from standing together and working hard to overcome the obstacles that many, especially the Democratic Party, try so hard to point out. In fact many might say that these challenges are not challenges at all, but instead they are signs of strength and perseverance. For example, while many believe that Sarah Palin will be making a beeline for that one magical seat everyone keeps talking about, others are not so sure it will all pan out. But the point is that observations like these don’t make it any easier on the conservatives.

On the other hand sloppy actions in the media certainly do help in keeping things together and strong for the party. Specific occasions, like the one with Keith Olberman who was recently suspended indefinitely from one of the most popular political shows on television, really don’t do anything to help their own cause of trying to bring down the Republican Party but instead they help fuel the fire that never seems to die with the conservatives. The thing that many people fail to realize is that while everything seems to be falling apart at the edges on television, it is simply only what the media will have you believe.

The good news is that things seem to be looking up for those who happen to be a conservative and who are looking for a seat to occupy. With the continuous upheaval when it comes to the Obama administration, most people can feel comfortable in saying that change is definitely on the minds of most people throughout the United States yet again. It is looking as though no matter when opponents of the conservative party have up their sleeves, none of it seems to be working.
