You don’t have to run for president or mayor to get involved with politics. Several activities and volunteer spots allow you to get involved with a local political campaign without having to be a front-runner.

If you are looking to get started on the local campaign front, here’s a look at some ways you can get involved.

Show Your Support with a Sign

The easiest and most passive way to get involved with your local political system is to show your support for a candidate by placing a sign in front of your house or a bumper sticker on your car. These signs allow you to back a specific candidate without getting too involved with politics.

If you wish to display a political sign in front of your house, contact the local candidate or the political party with which they are running to obtain a sign.

Make a Monetary Donation

It costs a lot to run for office so political campaigns are always looking for monetary donations. Donation money can be used to pay for benefit dinners, travel expenses, pamphlets or advertisements.

To make a monetary donation you can contact the candidate directly or look up the local political party office in the Canada 411 and call them for more information on how to make a donation.

Donate Your Time

Political campaigns need dozens of volunteers to help in a number of areas. If you have the time, you can volunteer to collect signatures, answer phone calls, make campaign calls, ask for donations or help in the campaign office.

Get involved today and volunteer your time, energy or money to a local political campaign that you feel strongly about.

Every country needs a government to run the system in a proper and in a legal way. Governance is a very symbolic word when it comes to doing service. Governance includes looking after so many things which are likely to affect us in our daily lives. Doing governance is not a very easy task as it seems to be, as it takes a lot of planning and during this planning there are so many aspects which are needed to be kept in mind and care should be taken so that all the areas are remembered to be addressed.

For example if a plan is there to lay out a road in a particular residential area, there are many aspects which are to be kept in mind. First of all, if there is a necessity for a new road or could it be postponed and is there any area which requires more priority. Hence priority should be accorded accordingly. There will also be an important issue and that is to find out the future requirements like underground cabling and the purpose won’t be fulfilled when a road which has been laid out recently is being dug out.

Hence care is to be taken like seeing into the future requirements which might occur after a long duration of time. The job which a government does for the people cannot be seen in an instant but the fruits of the hard work done by a good government can be seen after a long time.

There are an endless number of websites, books, magazines, and people who will tell you “the secret to a successful campaign.” Some of these campaign secrets do not work, some work some of the time, and some work most of the time, but no single campaign secret works in every situation. Campaigns are always different and must be treated differently depending on the target audience, your stances, recent events, and many more factors. However, there is one factor that can always be used in a campaign, for you or against you: your past work.

One person that discovered the importance of past work is Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. President Nazarbayev was re-elected to office for five more years in April 2011 with over 95% of the votes in his favor. He had a good campaign and he is very qualified for the job, but his real secret was simply the good work he did previously in office, such as seeking peace between religious groups and fighting political corruption.

Besides being a feather in your hat, past work can also be used against you. There have been countless campaigns that have been destroyed by a candidate’s past work (or lack there of). During almost any campaign now you can simply watch a couple of television campaign ads and see that everyone is more than willing to talk about an opponent’s past failures.

While in office, everything you do is under scrutiny. People watch you for mistakes and for good deeds. Doing a good job and accomplishing what you promise are the only sure-fire ways to secure a re-election.

Young people are the future of a country. If they don’t get involved in politics, then who would rule the country in the future? Getting young people involved in politics is very important if a country wants to sustain itself in the future too.

The modern day world does not seem to have many young people who are interested in politics. Politics is still considered to be a father’s or grandfather’s or uncle’s interest. It is seen as something that can be postponed to become interested in when one reaches middle-age.

This is not true. Politics is for the young, middle-age, and elderly. As much as the elderly or middle-aged people are involved in politics, so too is the need for young politicians to rule a nation.

Almost every country has youth unions and youth leaders. But it only stops at that. The youth leader gets into the big league and stops encouraging youth activities. This happens to everyone and everywhere.

In certain countries, college unions elect youth leaders. But these leaders are seen in mock-interest by the more experience politicians. They either become a center of amusement or a source of rejection. Young politicians find it hard to break through the gateway of nepotism, so well guarded by experience politicians.

These things should not discourage us from getting the youth to become interested in politics. We need young educated people who have the creativity, humanity, and brilliance to rule a nation. We can only hope and pray that we have politicians from top-brass management colleges. Such a situation is awaited, because the world is fed-up with low-quality politicians.

The primary role of an elected official can be summed up in two words “problem solver.” People look to an elected official as someone in charge who can address their concerns. Here are four simple yet very important criteria that you must address before becoming an elected official.

1. Why do you want to become elected?

If you truly desire to help people, then be prepared to be a servant. After all, that’s the core of being an elected official; a servant of the people. If your ideals are not about servitude but instead to make a name for yourself, then you should not be an elected official.

2. What can you do for the people?

Although you can’t single-handedly do and fix everything, there must be something you can offer the people to solicit their votes. Talk with the people to become more familiar with their concerns and carefully select the ones you are most capable of meeting.

Image sourced from http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/dv1673059/Digital-Vision

3. How will you execute your promises?

You need to have a political strategy of how you plan on fulfilling your promises of positive change to win votes. This is your opportunity to utilize your skills, resources and contacts to have a solid workable plan.

4. When will you deliver on your promises?

Your constituents need timelines of when they can expect things to get better. Be honest and don’t set unrealistic goals just to win votes. If you get elected, you would’ve already set the pace for their expectations.

Answering these four questions can determine if you really have what is takes to become an elected official.

Our government has a lot of problems. It’s so easy to get frustrated and jaded by what’s going on. Many people feel that they have no control over it. In the short term this can sometimes be true, but in the long term, we all have control over what’s going on in our government. In the midst of all the sarcasm, it’s important to realize that there are people trying to get it right in our government. Some people may think that running for public office is a power move. This can be the case, but many good Americans run for government office, because they are willing to put their heart and soul into what they believe and they really do want to make a difference. Do they always do the best job? Do they always make the right choices? No. This being said, there are also lots of idiots who run for government positions. It’s important that we not allow ourselves to get so sick of the entire process that we stop being involved. When the general American citizenry, becomes so lazy or disillusioned with our politics and government that we quit caring, listening, and being involved, this is when our nation fails. Unfortunately, many people think this has already begun to happen.

It’s time to try and find the positive. Take a world view and compare out nation’s government to others around the world. Notice how lucky we are to live in a place where a dictator can’t drag us out into the streets and murder us for speaking against them. Notice how lucky we are to live in an economically vital nation, even if it does have problems.

If you’re always looking for a way to improve yourself. Take it outside yourself and look for ways to improve the lives of others. This can bespecially difficult when we are all so busy. By the time, you get your exercise routine every day; keep the bills paid, and relationships alive, there aren’t much of us left to give. But there’s got to be a way to make the rat race worth more. Part of it is the attitude that we live each day. Is our attitude all about ourselves or is it focused on more than just us? As parents or caretakers or others, we may feel that we are giving all we have already to children and those we care for. This can be true. But maybe, we need to look a little further. Maybe, when we left with an attitude of gratitude, we can find that serving those we love isn’t such a chore. Maybe, serving those we love can actually be an opportunity to enrich our lives and share with others.

So, living with an attitude of gratitude can actually be a life changing thing. It allows us to turn from thinking about ourselves to look at others. It also helps us see that the people we serve each day, like children, aren’t taking away from us. They can actually give back to us if we have the right attitude. With this new insight, we can look for opportunities to give beyond what we already do. This can be a simple thing like giving to different charities each month or each week. It can also be something simple like taking cookies to neighbor or taking their trash can in from the curb for them.

Do people actually still talk to their kids about what’s going on in the world? Do we take the time to make our adult conversations about current daily events into something our children can also connect to? Do we offer to allow them into our conversations about the current state of the world? Sometimes, parents may feel that what’s going in isn’t appropriate to discuss in front young children. This can be appreciated. But there are many current topics that children hear adults around them discuss that children can really understand. When we don’t include our children in these discussions about current events, we exclude them from valuable awareness of our views about the world, valuable learning experiences, and also the ability to learn to have views and conversations about things like politics and government.

Have you had a political conversation around the dinner table lately with your kids? It can feel like a strange concept. But it’s a great way to invite your kids to let you know what they understand about current politics, if anything and help fill in the gaps. Kids who have never talked about politics may feel that politics and government don’t relate to their lives, but this is not the case. Kids need to know how governments, elections, and politics deeply impact things about their world every day, especially on the local level. It’s also important to realize that kids can actually be involved in politics, if they want to from a very young age. There’s so many other terrible things for them to be involved in, why not politics. Many schools allow kids to run for school student councils and other activities starting as young as 8 years of age. It’s a great chance to kids to actually try out politics on their own and see how it impacts them personally.

It seems like political campaigns never end. They start again the minute a winner gives their acceptance speech. They’re already campaigning for the next election or next position on their career ladder. Political campaigns have become longer in recent years and more intense. The media has caught the campaign bug, and we never seem to stop hearing about the latest smear campaign or latest large campaign stop by politicians. It’s easy to become jaded in this campaign ridden world, we are living. At times, it can be important to stop and smell the roses of this campaign melee that surrounds us.

We live in a nation where we can elect our government officials at the state, local, and national level. This means we have the choice and the right to choose our leaders. Wow! This really is an amazing freedom to have. A very important part of this selection process of leadership is campaigns. Campaigns can be good, bad, ugly, and lovely. They come in all shapes and sizes. But like it or lump it, they allow us to hear competing politicians state their goals, beliefs, and political views before they are elected. We may get sick of hearing about it, but its part of our freedom and the process required to elect governing officials in our nation. Maybe, we can stop complaining and actually listen to what they are saying. Another thing that can be useful is actually attending some campaign meetings. Even easier, is to watch political speeches on the television or a politician’s website. It’s so easy to locate information about campaigns now. We don’t have any more excuses. We need to know about those who are running and what they stand for.

Teaching the young the act of charity can be a daunting task. Everyone likes to get stuff. It’s not so easy to give stuff away. Our world is full of want. But teaching charity can help us to learn the difference between wants and needs and also the joy of giving. Parents and family members have to make a conscience effort to teach children about charity in everyday life. They can also make a conscience effort to help their children find opportunities to give to others through charitable organizations in their society and community and also through daily acts of service and kindness to others.

There are lots of great ways to help children instill a tradition of charity in their hearts and actions every day. The Christmas holidays always create tons of great opportunities for giving to charities and other service organizations. But the act of having charity in mind needs to be something we consider all year long. Society doesn’t just need charity at Christmas. There are people in need all around us every day. You don’t need to turn on the television to be reminded of that. Some great things that families do include doing a monthly donation run to a charitable organization like the Salvation Army. Some families will take a monthly load of groceries or even a small bag to the local food pantry. Kids need to know where these places are and understand that they are a wonderful gift to a community. Children need to see their adult family members going into these places and having positive experiences there. When schools offer charity events, families can support their children in giving generously if finances allow. Let children get excited to be involved in charity events and acts of service. Families can also enact their own charity activities and let their children help plan and do them.

Have you ever tried to explain how politicla elections work in our nation without it sounding like its a popularity contest? The great news is that while political elections are occuring, its a great time to discuss with kids about what’s going on. Plus, during a major polticlal election the entire world is buzzing about elections. Kids are going to hear about poltiics and electiosn right and left. If you talk to htem about it, they might actually turn on and notice what’s going on around them. Our political process may seem rather complicated but it isn’t if you explain it in kid terms, even a kindergartener can understand parts of what’s going on.

Another great way to teach your children about the electoral process is to actually take them with you to vote as long as you aren’t in line for hours and hours. If kids see you voting in an election, they will understand a lot more about what’s going on. Also, school aged children are often talking about elections as they are going on, especially during Presidentail elections. This is also your chance to indoctriante yoru children with your political view, just kidding. But you can help continue the teaching that’s happened at school or hasn’t happened, by talking to your children about elections as they are happening. Its the only thing you’ll hear on televsion and radio newcasts when they’re happening.

When we eduate kids young

How does a candidate win an election? How important is the election process to Americans?

Often times the public chalks up a winning candidates’ success to the amount of money he or she raises for the campaign. While financial funding certainly helps with advertising and tours, it is not everything.

Election processes can get complicated as candidates use mud-slinging techniques, or complex issues are raised in debate, or one tries to decipher the varying techniques used to win over target populaces.

The truth is though, in the grand scheme of elections, money, catchy punch lines, and appealing advertising does not truly entice the public enough. It is estimated that approximately only a third part of Americans actually vote during a Presidential election. So the winner’s triumph actually does not represent the nation’s overall view. Whether it is lack of interest or ineligibility to vote, many Americans simply don’t participate in elections.

Then among those who do vote, it is not always clear that they are voting on principles and knowledge. They may vote for whoever seems more popular or seems a more charismatic speaker.

How many Americans are educated enough about the varying candidates to determine which one will truly best represent and lead the country? Not very many.

This has brought about an increase desire in conservatives to be educated about government and American history. There are conservatives who are reading, attending seminars, doing research online to learn more about the founding fathers, the bedrock principles of government, and the proper role of government. This among other literature and materials is sure to enhance the ability of Americans to make educated choices. It will help Americans take hold of their rights of liberty and ability to properly facilitate political action. It will decrease the complexity of governmental issues and open the doors for a stronger people.

The weekend before Valentine’s Day 2011 marked the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). This is a highlight in conservative events and sets the tone for the Republican Primary for the Presidential race in 2012. Many view the CPAC as a rite of passage for the potential Republican nominees.

Below is the review of the speakers and how they fared at the 2011 conference.

Ron Paul of Texas won the straw poll the second year in a row. He was obviously the favored conservative of the weekend. Many feel though he is more of a sensational speaker rather than one who can turn the liberal tide of the country.

Orrin Hatch received the most boos from the crowd. He was asked to explain his supporting vote of the bail-out. Although he admitted it might have been a mistake, he felt that the country would have entered a severe depression if the government had not stepped in. The crowd was so rowdy and obviously opposed to his voting choice, many never heard his response. Hatch will have to do much to repair his reputation, some feel, if he hopes to gain candidacy in 2012.

Mitt Romney of Massachusetts delivered a powerful speech which was very well received by the crowd. He is considered to be the front runner for the conservative race for President in 2012.

Mitch Daniels of Indiana hit the national debt hard in his delivered address. Although his speech was only met with polite applause, he was considerably praised by the national media and made the Drudge Report.

Michele Bachmann of Minnesota also could be considered a “winner” at the CPAC. Her address produced a standing ovation. It is reported that she was surrounded by admirers where ever she went at the conference.

Although there is still much time before the 2012 Presidential Elections many feel that the CPAC has set the stage for conservative nominees. As the public was reintroduced to these conservative super stars, it can better determine who should be selected.

In the early years of the American colonies revolt against British rule, there are several landmark events that stand out in history. One of these is the Boston Tea Party in which some “rebellious” colonists, in Boston, Massachusetts went aboard a tea ship docked in Boston Harbor and threw all the tea overboard as a clear expression of their strong anti-tax opinions. Although these colonists impacted history and played a critical role in the Revolutionary War, it is doubtful they fully comprehended the leading role they exemplified for generations to come.

Throughout the 1990’s there were many anti-tax protests to display the public’s outrage of government taxes. In more recent years, Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Texas and his supporters held a fund-raiser on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party for the 2008 Presidential Primary Race. The politician’s platform was to remove the United States from Iraq and Afghanistan as well as to do away with the Federal Reserve System. He and his followers strongly supported giving State governments more rights and keeping the National government at bay.

In 2009 a Tea Party protest was conducted by the Young Americans for Liberty in response to Governor Patterson’s suggestion for an obesity tax. This was one of over 100 taxes that the New York State Governor proposed. Many at the protest wore Indian head dresses resembling those worn by the Boston colonists at the original Boston Tea party.

In February 2009, a Seattle conservative Blogger, Keli Carender, rallied a protest the day before President Obama signed the nation’s stimulus package. She did not lean on other groups, but rather through her own networking was able to gather approximately 120 people. Later on February 27, 2009, she and many other “Tea Party” protestors across the country (in 40 different cities nationwide) protested to show their rage at the government’s behavior. It is believed that both Bush’s bail out and Obama’s bail out are the events that gave birth to the modern day Tea Party Movement.

Mitt Romney continues as a favorite politician among conservatives. He is a church going politician with views that are favored among conservatives.

His political views have changed over the years and his current stance on abortion is it should only be legal in cases of incest, rape and if the pregnancy is life threatening to the mother. This is a stark change from his earlier pro-choice stance in the beginning of his political career.

Eventually, he also changed is view on gay marriage. He originally supported domestic partnerships and was against banning gay marriage. He did flip his views an ended up supporting the Federal Marriage Protection Amendment. This amendment defined marriage as a union between a man and women.

His stance on stem cells has also changed during his political career. Currently, he is not opposed to using embryonic stem cells in the context of research. However, he opposes federal funding of such research. At one point in his career, he stated he would appeal to President Bush for stem cell research.

It is conceivable that Mitt Romney has changed is views simply because he has matured in his personal life and in the political arena. It is also conceivable his views changed simply to garner political support. It is not uncommon for politicians to amend their views to appeal to the masses. A politician’s goal is to be elected.

The notion that conservative politicians with a strong religious faith are somehow more trustworthy is ridiculous. Politicians flip their beliefs to match the majority sentiment to gain votes. Once they are elected, they quickly flip their beliefs again.

Mitt Romney is still a favorite among conservatives. However, he should not be glorified as anything but another politician that amends his views to flow with the current tide of majority beliefs.

The 14 trillion dollar national debt continues to rise. Government spending has spiraled and is out of control. This has many Americans adopting conservative views on government spending. Unemployment is still high and Americans continue to lose their homes to foreclosures.

Government has grown too large to manage. Many Americans no longer trust or have faith in their government. Change was promised and it never came. The solution is to reduce government involvement in the lives of Americans.

The government should not be involved in handing out money through a welfare system. There are many non-profit organizations that continue to provide support and help for the poor. The welfare system is a handout to those that choose not to work and help themselves. Millions of people on welfare feel they are entitled and make little effort to remove themselves from the welfare system. It is time for people to be accountable for their own lives.

The country is in dire condition and gaining control of excess spending is critical. Hardworking taxpayers are tired of their tax dollars being wasted. Many are struggling to hold on to their homes while the government doles out billions of dollars to corporations for bailouts.

It is clear that bailouts and welfare are not in the best interest of the country nor its citizens. The middle class has always managed to survive on its own. It is now time for the rest of the population including large corporations, to manage on their own. Government spending for any type of hand out program should stop. With the increasing national debt, the government and the American people can no longer afford to carry the burden of those that refuse to help themselves.

There are enough charitable organizations available to provide assistance for people that are truly in need.

Since its inception, the Tea Party has been vocal and at some rallies, members have expressed racist views. In 2010, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) identified the Tea Party as a racist movement. To call the entire movement racist is the same as stating all African-Americans are against white Americans.

Few people realize many African-American conservatives have been members of the Tea Party since its inception. There are many racist elements in the Tea Party, however, the majority member’s fight to remove these elements as quickly as possible.

Initially, the Tea Party was a simple grass roots organization started by working class Americans that were disillusioned by the politics of the day. Many had never been involved in politics until they joined the movement.

The Tea Party gained popularity as the house market and economy spiraled downward. The movement grew as billion dollar corporations asked for government bailouts while CEOs received million dollar bonuses.

It is an organization of middle class Americans that are sick and tired of carrying the burden of government waste and spending. While the Government gave billions to big corporations for bail out, many Americans lost their homes and jobs.

Middle class America is tired of funding welfare programs. Millions of Americans are on welfare and will spend the rest of their lives on welfare while hardworking Americans foot the bill. The Tea Party is not asking the funding be cut for African-Americans on welfare; they are asking the funding be cut for all Americans on welfare.

The Tea Party is not racist and should not be judged as racist because of a hand full of people that expressed racist views. This attack on the Tea Party is without merit and seems to be the only way Liberal organizations can find fault with the party.

Many conservatives based on their religious views, believe in the creationism theory. They want the public school system to include this theory in the curriculum. Several politicians admit to believing in this theory. This is another way Christianity is encroaching on the lives of others that do not believe in this religion.

The public school system is already on a shoestring budget. Teachers have to purchase classroom supplies with their own money. Yet conservatives, who want the government to stop spending money, think it is acceptable to spend money to ensure the creationism theory is taught in school.

It seems that conservatives are willing to spend money as long as it furthers their religious agenda. There are millions of Christians that do not believe in the theory. Why should children have to learn a theory based on one religion? There are a number of religions that may also want their version of creation taught as well.

If people want to abandon the science that has provided advanced medical technologies and much more for a religious theory, then they should do so in the privacy of their own homes. The creationism theory has no place in the public school system. It is a religion based theory and should not be forced into the public school system curriculum.

If conservatives and the Christian right wing organizations want to teach this theory to their children, they are free to teach their children in the home or at church. However, this theory should not be forced on the children of those who do not believe in this theory.

Conservatives tend to overlook separation between church and state and sometimes step on the rights of others who choose to believe in a different religion. We are a diverse nation and no religion should advance its beliefs and theories into the public school system.

Abortion is a hot political topic. Conservatives want to make abortion illegal. Most conservatives would allow for abortion in certain circumstances. If the mother’s life is in jeopardy by giving birth, an abortion is acceptable.

Many women believe it is their body and if they want an abortion it is their right to choose. When you think about this, you realize how ridiculous this thought is. A responsible woman would take precautions to ensure she does not get pregnant with an unwanted child.

If a woman has chosen not to use precautions, then she has already made a choice and pregnancy is the result of her choice. With so many available birth control methods, one would think a woman would choose one of these methods to prevent pregnancy.

Millions of abortions are performed each year. This seems unnecessary given the ample choices of birth control. However, it seems many women choose abortion as a means of birth control.

Science argues the fetus is not a developed human being. This may be a reason why women choose abortion as a birth control method. If it is not a life, then what is the big deal?

The abortion issue will continue to be debated. Even if conservatives were to succeed in make abortion illegal, the debate would still go on. At that point pro-abortion advocates would continue to fight to legalize it once again.

Many Americans feel that abortion is a personal choice; however, there must be some consideration to the fetus. In addition, abortions should not be used as a method of birth control. Abortion is simply a way for a woman to avoid the consequences of her actions.

If abortions were illegal, maybe women would make sure to take precautions to prevent an unwanted pregnancy in the first place.

Conservatives are often labeled as racist. However, this is far from the truth. Conservatives believe if you develop programs such as affirmative action, you are creating racial inequality. You are giving to one race and taking away from another. Policies based on race will only succeed in creating tension among all races.

Conservatives base their policies on racial equality. They assume the equality exists. A good example is the notion of “hate crimes”. In the conservative viewpoint, a crime is a crime regardless of why the crime was committed. It is not that they are unsympathetic to hate crime victims. If a person is murdered because of their ethnicity and another is murdered for money, a conservative believe both crimes deserve the same punishment regardless of the motivation for the crime. This is not racism it is simple common sense.

Conservatives believe that hate crime legislation prevents and adversely effects racial harmony. In order for a diverse population to get along, laws must be equal and fair. Creating legislation to benefit one race will only cause resentment.

Conservatives believe the welfare system creates a wedge between races. Unfortunately, African-Americans rely on the welfare system more than any other race. Conservatives are perceived as racists because they believe welfare should not be left up to the Government. They believe there are enough charities and organizations that people can turn to for assistance. American taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for single mothers that continue to have children they cannot afford to take care of.

The welfare system creates racial disharmony and the conservative view on welfare has little to do with race. Conservatives are not racist. Their views are simply practical and are more geared toward racial equality than racial inequality. Government spending is out of control and conservative views are more related to controlling government spending than race.

Unemployed workers have not found jobs and unemployment benefits are running out. Regardless of where you sit on the political fence, everyone understands the deficit is out of control. Spending in the Government seems to be speeding up instead of slowing down. Americans are angry and struggling to survive. While Obama followers were excited for the possibility of change, the change has yet to arrive.

Republicans and Democrats are too busy bashing each other to focus on issues that need immediate attention. State budgets are dwindling and many are cutting public services including budget cuts for police and firefighters. The poor in this country are screaming for help as resources are becoming limited.

Conservatives want to stop spending and want to change many social services programs. This has many people wondering if conservatives are heartless. Many of the poor have cell phones, cable TV, televisions, jewelry and a roof over their heads. The poor in the United States have a higher standard of living than the poor in other countries. It is easy to understand the conservative point of view toward the poor in this country.

Conservatives are not heartless; they just want able body individuals to learn how to help themselves instead of waiting in line for Government handouts. The welfare system in the United States has done little to help people become self-sufficient. Welfare benefits have become a right for those who choose not to work. While the conservative attitude may appear racist, it is not. It just so happens that many of the people abusing the welfare system are minorities.

Conservatives are just that, conservative. They just want the speeding flow of money to stop. It is time for the Government to examine welfare policies. This is not just a conservative view; it is a view of most hard working Americans regardless of political affiliation.

The Canadian Appeals court ruled the Marriage Commissioners could not refuse to marry gay couples based on a Commissioner’s religious belief. In other words, if a Commissioner is against gay marriage that is not sufficient grounds for refusing to marry a gay couple. The ruling essentially states that Commissioners have the right of religious freedom as long as it does not violate the rights of others.

Religious freedom gives one the right to practice the religion of their choice. However, it does not give one the right to dictate and discriminate against those that do no hold the same beliefs. The Canadian ruling further separates religion from the law of the land. Many argue that the Canadian ruling will affect and may promote the legalization of gay marriage in the United States.

This ruling is causing concern among conservatives and religious groups in the United States that oppose gay marriage. The ruling in Canada is clear; the legal rights of the people take precedence over one’s religious beliefs in matters of the law. In the United States, there are numerous attempts to ensure separation between church and state. Battles are fought every day to remove any religious references from state and federal buildings. It seems it may be only a matter of time before gay marriage is a reality in the United States.

Legal organizations fighting for gay marriage will utilize the arguments used in Canada to form their arguments in court in the U.S. While conservatives continue to fight against gay marriage based on religion, many people in the U.S. are shifting their opinions. Their opinions are not changing toward gay marriage, but against the idea that laws should be based on religious beliefs. Polls among young voters indicate overwhelmingly that young people strongly believe in separation of church and state. It appears the fight against gay marriage may be losing ground and what many fear may soon become a reality.

Sarah Palin seems to be a favorite among white middle class conservative women. This is actually a huge problem when you think about it. The United States is a racially diverse country. We have yet to hear Sarah Palin tackle issues that affect minorities other than gay marriage. What is disturbing is she abandoned her position as Governor to deal with family issues. Should the conservatives that support her and want her to run for President, be concerned she may one day abandon the Presidency?

Sarah Palin may appeal to many conservatives, but she does not appeal to all of them. Her fatal mistake is when she resigned as Governor of Alaska. This mistake will haunt her for her entire political career. What makes matters worse, within months of resigning her book was published. She then went on a national book tour. This will also come back to haunt her if she were to ever run for public office.

She has probably realized this and is now striving to be the voice of the American people. She states she will continue to speak out. The more she continues to speak out the more tarnished her reputation will become. It is hard to put your faith in a person who is busy making book deals and a reality show. Is she genuine or trying to boost her reality TV ratings and sell more books?

She is increasingly losing favor among other groups that see her as an opportunist. She has numerous fan pages developed by her supporters. Most of these pages are geared toward pushing her to run for President. Unfortunately, she has alienated gay people, young people and virtually every minority in the country. While she is charismatic, she only appeals to some conservatives. It would be unfair and unrealistic to state she is a conservative favorite.

Time is not the kindness you once thought it to be. The years are quick; the hours are fleeting; and age moves steadily forward, a collection of wincing joints and well earned wisdom. The wild sensibilities are gone. They have been replaced instead to maturity. You never thought such a thing would happen. It was an expectation you wished to deny. It was a commonality you thought impossible. You were to be forever young and forever impulsive.

Life somehow had other notions.

And now you find your reflection a little stranger, a little sadder — if only because there is still so much to do and so little desire to do it. You’ve dedicated your days to others, offered all focus toward family and friends. Now, however, you wish for the peace you were never given in youth. It’s a reward, you’re certain, for the seconds you’ve shaped to perfections.

You want ease. You want convenience. And, assisted living facilities seem to offer both.

Simply explained: these institutions allow you to create a new identity for yourself — one of comfort. Professional aid is provided, with an on-site staff of doctors, nurses and activity specialists. You’ll be met with steady companionship, helpful care and a wealth of adventures (none of which will be the stressors you now fear).

Too often are individuals anxious of leaving their homes, believing themselves to somehow be defined by rooms and their stylings. You, however, understand that such rooms aren’t important. The memories within them are — and those you will take with you, always. You seek to pass the burden of maintaining corners and those ever fickle shrubberies to another. You’ll simply take what’s yours: the happy past.

Assisted living facilities are not the worries others have assumed them to be. You understand instead that they are the luxuries you deserve.

Your time is now your own. Enjoy it.

Don’t think Mark Kirk doesn’t know what he has tried to do. This isn’t the act of a man trying to obtain office in a decidedly red state. When you try and become the governor of Alabama, being a republican will get your everywhere. When you are trying to become the next senator of Illinois, the issue is much more difficult when you back the republican party.

Illinois has been, for as long as anyone cares to remember, a democratic state. It’s major cities mayor? Democrat and his father before him. The senators from Illinois? A long history of democrats and most notably the President of the United States Barack Obama. The former governor of Illinois? A democrat through and through. A crook but a democrat through and through.

And that is where Mark Kirk is making head way and that’s what makes his improbable run for the senate seat that much more interesting. If you don’t recall this was the vacant seat left by the current President Obama. After it was up for grabs, former governor Rod Blagojevich tried to sell the senate seat before being caught and thrown out of office disgracefully. This seat holds enormous weight in Congress and one that the Republicans need badly.

So why would Mark Kirk be so bold as to try and do it? Simply because he can. The nation is at a place right now where it no longer is trusting of the Democratic party the way it was two years ago when Barack got elected. These days there is a lot of wondering just what the Democrats are trying to do. In Illinois they are coming off a time of great crisis and a shake up might be the only way to see effective results. Mark Kirk hopes to be that man.

How significant is the difference between policies of Conservative and liberal candidates in any electoral system? The candidates may belong to different parties and yet can be stereotyped into those belonging to Conservative and to the liberal segment.

Of course, Conservative candidates do not always focus on fiscal conservation and traditional social values. In the same way, liberal or democrat candidates need not always adopt radical solutions at all times. These generalizations do not work very effectively at the grassroots. In a community plagued by excessive debts, fiscal conservative approach may be the only way to proceed.

It may involve infusion of government funds and restriction of freedom of individuals to trade as they please. These features happen to be the bulwark of Conservative politics. Yet, significant deviations have been noticed in the past and shall be visible in the future as well. This is because politics is the art of possible. Anything that works as a solution will be good enough even if it does not appeal to one’s ideologies.

More often than not, political parties have moved out of their traditional approaches and have embraced radical solutions. However, they have always, rather inexplicably, sought to prove that the move was an aberration and only strengthens the rule.

Chances are high that US republicans will embrace solutions suggested by Democrats to counter the financial mess. They may not do it wholeheartedly but wholesale denial is not going to work. However, Republicans will try to use the deviation to stress the importance of their original ideology.

However, politics works on pragmatism and not on ideology. Excessive emphasis on conservative values may backfire as it did when Bill Clinton was the President and Republicans gained control of the House Of Representatives. The resulting deadlock disgusted votes and Democrats surged not because they were preferable but just because the public was tired of the politics of one-upmanship.

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued an opinion on whether a federal work permit cards used at the The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of a lawful presence in the USA for a driver’s licence, State ID card.

The cause of this was trigger when a an illegal alien accused of drunk driving killed a Benedictine nun. Carlos A. Martinelly-Montano had two earlier drunk driving conventions and was awaiting a deportation hearing. He received a federal work card from the Department of Homeland Security to get a State ID card, He did not have a valid driver’s licence.

The opinion, issued by Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, concludes that the DMV has authority and discretion to decide the documentation to issue a State ID or licence. Virgina law requires the that their applicants give that they are legally present in the United States before being granted a State driver’s licence or Identification card.

Virginia DMV Commissioner, Richard Holcomb, says he is within his legal rights to stop using the federal identification work cards as proof of legal residence. However, If it is proven that a person is not of legal residence, the DMV can not cancel an already issued Virginia drivers licence.

The ACLU is calling the policy hastily adopted because of a terrible accident, they say there is no connection between a federal work permit and this specific accident. Kent Willis, ACLU of Virginia Executive Director says the state of Virgina is looking for a scapegoat because it allowed someone to drive illegally. He says the drivers licences and state issued identification are one of the most important government documents issued to many immigrants. The federal work permit card is used to receive a Social Security card, but not a state issued identification card. An applicant needed both the work card and the Social Security card to get a Virgina Drivers licence.

Irrespective of what your Conservative or Democrat candidate might have said, just keep the following points in mind.

Firstly, the economy is suffering because of the damage that it has suffered for many years. Excessive consumption, reliance on borrowings and irresponsible financial lifestyle are the primary reasons behind the problems America is facing today.

Secondly, elections are all about transfer of power. How many times have Americans heard promises that were never kept? In fact, it is a characteristic of democracy and politics all over the world.

Thirdly, it is one thing to think about the country as a whole. However, you cannot afford to ignore your personal finances. If you keep your head above the water and if thousands of Americans all over the country do the same, the economy is automatically going to improve.

Fourthly, there is no point in relying on a specific ideology or approach. Approach of Conservatives or that of Democrats is not going to work in isolation. In any case, both parties run the country by working together. Hence, you too will have to inculcate Conservative as well as Democrat approach when managing your personal finances. Go beyond traditional ideas but do not trust just one line of thought or approach all the time.

Finally, just take a look at conservatives in Europe and find out how they are trying to tackle the recession. While the ground scenario may be different, it certainly will help you understand that drastic measures are required. Either you can protest like the French or can take it with a stiff upper lip like the British.

The Republican party took the majority of the seats in the United States House of Representatives. In a couple of landslide elections throughout the country the Republican party was able to regain the majority of the seats in the House of Representatives on November 2, 2010.

What was typically a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives has now had the balance of the scales tipped in favor of Republicans. So what does this mean for election issues and future political issues?

The key issue that is sure to be at the center of the debate of the House is that of the health care bill. Many Republicans while they believe there is a need for a universal health care reform bill do not agree with the majority of the issues that the Democrats presented. Issues that are sure to come up include that of the inclusion of abortions, birth control pills as a form of preventative measures, the requirement of health insurance for those living in the country and even the hot topic issue of what is being called a death panel and having the government take control of people’s health care.

With the win of the House of Representatives there are sure to be issues and problems that arise in the future. Currently the Senate still has a majority of Democrats so issues that come before the Senate that are largely supported by Democrats will be passed quickly. However, under America’s legislative branch a bill cannot become a law until it is passed by both the House and the Senate. This is where many bills will hit a bump in the road to becoming a law, as it is sure that those in the House will quickly overturn, change and debate the finer points of the Senate bill. This could force many potential laws to die in the House, be bounced back and forth for debate or just simply get lost in the confusion.

After the November 2, 2010 elections in which the Republicans gained a majority of the House of Representatives, President Obama has expressed the desire to want to reach a compromise with Republican lawmakers on a number of issues that are near and dear to the Republican party.

In a news conference just a day after election day. President Obama appeared before media outlets and expressed his desire to work hand in hand with Republicans to make sure that the economy and the government do not reach a standstill or stalemate.

The major topic of choice is that of the tax cuts and tax hikes that could be expected within the next year. The government is facing a massive deficit that only seems to be growing. In an effort to close that gap in finances, many people believe that taxes on the middle class might be the way to go. Republicans believe that tax hikes on middle class should be cut and not exist as it will only prevent growth.

Another area of issue is that of the soon to expire tax break on the upper class. Tax breaks that were put into effect during the Bush administration are set to expire within the year. Democrats have expressed the desire to let those tax breaks expire and not renew them so there would be a new source of income in Washington. With the recent switch in the House, many lawmakers are expressing the desire to reach a compromise on these issues and even a renewal of the tax break for upper class.

An issue that President Obama used to bring up but that has been pushed to the side is that of offering credits for carbon emissions. This used to be a hot button issue but in light of the recent change in government it may be pushed aside for more pressing issue.

Change is in the air when it comes to the way that government works.

In what is sure to be one of the most important elections in the nations history, the Republicans took a very big step in making their formidable voice heard once again by taking the majority of the seats in the United States House of Representatives. This couldn’t come at a better time. With the Obama administration only half way through their term and the senate being firmly controlled by the Democrats, have a voice in one half of the decision making capacity means a lot to the Republicans for more than just one reason.

The first is that it signals a re connect with the American voter and hints at a dissatisfaction with the current regime of Democrats in power. Things looked bleak after 2006. There the Republicans were batter and beaten to death when a failing economy and a very polarizing war threatened turned voters off to the ideology of the Bush administration. There was a great upheaval.

The last hope at that time that the Republicans had to gain favor with the voters was with the 2008 Presidential election. While they trotted out the very likable and honorable John McCain they could not compete against the massive youth movement for Obama and the ills of the decision to make Sarah Palin the running mate of McCain.

However, there seems to be a swing back in the favor of red. The failing economy and the angst and worry over the Obama health care bill has started making people rethink their stance on a more liberal way of America. The feeling seems to be that the country needs to tighten the belts and not loosen the purse strings. For that reason the Democrats are taking a hit, just like in the recent election. Unless the Dems make a big splash, 2012 could be just as big for the Conservatives.

The basic foundation of conservative politics was laid by John Locke. John Locke was a professor of English. He was also a philosopher and physician. Locke was a staunch non-believer in the existence of God. Rather, he believed in the existence of the capabilities of humans. He felt that if human beings were given the right help, they could achieve anything they wanted. They could become God themselves.

Locke’s school of thought was the foundation of Conservative Politics, which emphasized on governmental non-interference in the activities of human beings. Conservative Politics has its bedrock in the liberal theory. The founding fathers of America were deeply influenced by the theories of Locke, and made it a matter of state agenda.

Conservative Politics still pays obeisance to the theories of Locke, but its liberal theories have digressed, but not strayed from the original liberal theory. The most essential part of the political agenda is to have a citizen culture that carry out their day to day activities progressively and without any interference from the government.

Conservative Politics will enable people from all the classes to lead a successful life. Activities of the government will be aimed at providing jobs, healthcare benefits, unemployment pay, and other kind of monetary help.

Conservative Politics does not support indulgent government spending on activities that do not support the cause of progressive growth. However it does not feel that military spending should be opposed. On the contrary, Conservative Politics encourages military spending. Since military spending could be aligned to the safety of the country, the Conservative Political view is most often than not pro-military spending.

Conservative Politics is also for the bank-bailouts in times of emergencies. In other words it does favor capitalism. Big businesses, large enterprises, and million dollar deals have strong patronage from conservative politics.
This military spending theory of Conservative Politics is not in sync with the theories that Locke put forward. It is more of a theory of convenience.

On Tuesday, Nov 2, 2010 the Republicans took over the U.S House of Representatives. But the next day, the majority in House for the Republicans was unclear. Even if the Republicans managed to make inroads, there were no buyers for their agenda for setting up the government. The issue was not about gaining prominence or taking over the House as this situation was never going to happen according to political analysts.

If the Republicans of the GOP did get a majority, they would have come out with a completely new set of mandates. This would have created conflicting and contradictory situations. It is like navigating a tracked ship to elsewhere. The tracking goes haywire, and the route will yet be unclear for any conclusion. Indeed it is a good thing for stability that the GOP did not stake a majority. When things were settling down, another shake-quake of the government was too much to handle. Also the country was coming out the terrible recession and this was the perfect time to consolidate positions.

Although the Democrats won the midterm election their majority-lead has shrunk. This means that they do have a large majority-lead in the House. What could be great for stability would have been a sizeable majority-lead in the House. Clearly, the Republicans are hot on the heels of the Senate. With the difference in the majority to only three members, it has been a tight race to the finish line.

The Conservatives should feel elated on Tuesday’s victory of the Republicans. It also remains to be seen how the outgoing Congress members treat the radical liberal agenda bill. Everything vests upon how these people cast their votes. If they align with the Republicans then the Democrats will be faced with a problem.

The Democrats need to do a re-think on their agendas. It was a cause for their defeat on Tuesday night. The difference between them and the Republicans is so far only negligible.

The House Minority Leader, John Boehner this week makes a pledge to Americans to drive the Congress next year. The county prosecutorr, Gowdy beat Inglis and speaks confidently of theconservatism’ss help in the advance of the Republican Party during the next year. The Conservative candidates are 100% focused on the coming elections in November 2011 and to win the majority of the House. The conservative candidates will support a principled conservatism and although compromise can be virtues, it is not their intention to compromise just to be able “to get along”.

Jesse Kelly, a Marine veteran who won the seat in Arizona responds by saying that the future of the party will be a conservative future with a government that listens to voters. Conservative candidates for House seats stand a big chance of having a big impact on policy if the Republicans win back control in the next election held in November.

The Tea Party movement backs some of the Conservative candidates, where as some are endorsed by fellow conservatives such as Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and the South Carolina Senator, Jim De Mint. They take a hard line in most cases against President Obama, and are all for a limited government and a platform of much lower taxes.

Conservative Candidates clearly did upset the Republican Party as in the case where Bob Inglis six-term republican, lost to Trey Gowdy. Inglis is worried that he very conservative wing of their party can make compromising of critical issues difficult, as they do not wish to compromise at all. He feels they should get together to find solutions in the race for Conservative Leadership.

The new group of Conservative candidates feels that they are congressional representative who can and will make a difference as they feel many Republicans did not stick to their principles and thus lost some backing from The Tea Party group.

Conservatives have had a number of challenges leading up to election time, but that hasn’t stopped the party from standing together and working hard to overcome the obstacles that many, especially the Democratic Party, try so hard to point out. In fact many might say that these challenges are not challenges at all, but instead they are signs of strength and perseverance. For example, while many believe that Sarah Palin will be making a beeline for that one magical seat everyone keeps talking about, others are not so sure it will all pan out. But the point is that observations like these don’t make it any easier on the conservatives.

On the other hand sloppy actions in the media certainly do help in keeping things together and strong for the party. Specific occasions, like the one with Keith Olberman who was recently suspended indefinitely from one of the most popular political shows on television, really don’t do anything to help their own cause of trying to bring down the Republican Party but instead they help fuel the fire that never seems to die with the conservatives. The thing that many people fail to realize is that while everything seems to be falling apart at the edges on television, it is simply only what the media will have you believe.

The good news is that things seem to be looking up for those who happen to be a conservative and who are looking for a seat to occupy. With the continuous upheaval when it comes to the Obama administration, most people can feel comfortable in saying that change is definitely on the minds of most people throughout the United States yet again. It is looking as though no matter when opponents of the conservative party have up their sleeves, none of it seems to be working.

Whether you like it or not, the Obama Care bill is out and in full force. It was a bill that was thrown together and pushed through Congress due to the fact that the Blue Birds had the majority. So when it comes to this bill there are things that are a little out of hand. The big question about the bill is how will it really affect health care.

There are those that are in favor, and in theory it is nice to know that people will be covered but there are pitfalls that people may not have considered. Here are a few of those pitfalls.

The first has to do with the overall cost. The projected and estimated cost seems possible and without costing too much more in taxpayer money, but that isn’t the way to look at this bill. Be reminded of Medicare Part D. The government’s famed prescription drug program for seniors was estimated to be far less than it actually worked out to be. As a matter of fact it turned out to be 10,000% more than originally thought. What does everyone think the health care bill is going to be?

The truth of the matter is that the health care plan is supposed to be about keeping people insured, but what insurance will they buy? Here’s something that might be a problem. Perhaps people will begin to buy really cheap, really poor coverage plans and then wait for a really big medical problem, then they will switch to a full coverage plan. With pre existigng conditions not be allowed to preclude them from getting coverage means it could cause this flip flopping. This back and forth will only cause insurance companies to raise it’s rates to protect themselves from those who cancel policies. Did anyone think of these things when they were passing the bill through Congress?

The House is back in red and it is a great day to be a Republican. Of the 43 candidates that were up for election 33 of them won the day. Conservatism can once again have a great say in voting. Again, there are things that will change. This happens every time there is an enormous shift of power in the government. For most, however, the changes that will come will not be too much of a shock or surprise. This will be an enjoyable feat for most. There are those who are opposed to the idea of the House being ruled by Republicans.

The great thing about the new conservative House rules is that the people who were elected are so diverse in some of their ideals, proposals and logic that it should never be a boring day in the House. When it comes to voting these people are of a conservative notion and will not let go of their own ethics and morals to favor something that might do harm to the people or businesses of this nation. Everyone knows that if the businesses are doing well then the economy is doing well and that is the goal of most conservative people in politics.

The House has needed a good cleaning for a while now. It is a great thing that it was allowed to be swept out, aired out and fanned out. New air has come in and with it a great way of thinking. The tea party is now risen and from that the people and the government will have better values placed upon where the House stands and what the House does as a whole. When things are at there bleakest, there is always some good news waiting around the corner. That is what happens when there are conservative House rules.

On November 18,2010 the motion to proceed on the FDA Modernization Act was set before the Senate and it was agreed to. This over-abundance of power given to the Food and Drug Administration in this bill is, as feared, moving forward. There have been statements that this bill is nothing more than a power hungry FDA looking for sustenance. It remains to be seen, however, if this bill will go much further now that the House is back in red.

Overlooking the elephant in the room might be easy for some but this bill may have been shuffled too far forward already. Some might say that the Modernization Act of the Food and Drug Administration is nothing more than an organizational land grab. For most it is difficult to think of it as anything but that. In reality the cost to the people would be far greater than the cost to the government.

The paperwork that is stated in this bill and has to be done by the Secretary is ludicrous. Reports, agendas, goals, plans and more reports. Organization of what has to be done is a good thing, but too much organization might be a touch overwhelming and a trifle redundant. Succinctly, the FDA Modernization Act is not just the wrong answer to the problem that they have but it is shooting too far to the left for any answer that comes down the pike.

That is not to suggest stagnation as a recourse. Isn’t the point with a bill like this to move forward and not just expand government? It’s time to start listening to the voters and giving them what they need, what is good for the people. Weighing down our farmers with even more stringent amendments to what can or cannot be grown is something like cutting of a nose to spite the face.

Looking at the number of seats, 37 seats of a Senator, 37 seats for Governors and 435 for house Representatives, it seems fairly straight forward. But these few seats determine the future of millions of American families. It is scary to know that these few seats hold in balance the various things that can make or rip off a family. Things such as immigration reform, job creation, health care, security, tax breaks, reduced military spending, etc and many more are at stake here.

It is not just the seats for House of Representatives that hold profound influences on the lives of ordinary people but also the governor seats. The governor’s seats will have a direct effect on the local lives and livelihood. Hence it is the middle class and lower middle class families that have a lot at stake here. A gloom like situation is spread in every state with people uncertain and fearing for their future. Republicans are promising tax breaks, but only to the riches of people by up to 3%. The middle class families have nothing to reap from this. Whereas the democrats are pushing hard for a health reform amid the already disfigured face of the democrats in the last few years of bad luck combines with good decisions gone bad.

The conservative candidates and their supporters are vying for a stand against the problems facing the American middle class people; in this case the villain is Obama and his government. The middle class families are going to turn up for the elections in full strength and are going to make their choice of candidates who they think are going to help them make their lives better. It is these families that the democrats are trying to vote for them with their conservative candidates and their promises.

Banney Frank has flair for Denial, the so-called “brainiest” man on Capitol Hill. While his partner was growing pot, Frank was saying that he has trouble recognizing any plants because he’s not a great outdoorsman. Or when another partner of his running a prostitution ring out of Franks’ home, the congressman said he hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.

So now when Frank gave his victory speech he was angry. But he was not alone as being a “sore winner”; Jim Moran refused to take a concession call from his republican opponent. These two democrats believe they don’t have to compete for there job. Patrick Murray called his opponent not worthy because he didn’t perform any public service (being a colonel in the US army doesn’t count).

Of course Obama also has denial with his democrat cronies. Obama believes the votes are confused about his policies and that they were right on. Government spending has gone up 23 percent in two years since he has been president. No he thinks spending money on universal health care is going to fix the financial crisis. The sixty plus republican winners won and gained control of the House because the people voted against Obamacare. This election was the single, biggest, one-time, reversal for an electoral party since the Depression.

Obama truly did look shell shocked on TV. He was literally stunned with disbelief, which the American people could go against the “Chosen One”. In a time when the majority of voters want to cut government spending and responsibility Obama seems too oblivious. Over forty percent of Americans describe themselves as conservative, two times as much as those that describe themselves as liberal big government.

Denial runs so deep it’s like listening to a drug addict when a democrat talks. The democrats are so far off what the votes want today, it is unlikely they will recover and start winning elections anytime soon.
